
Sarah (Sally) Lucille Spindle (Bell) passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2012, surrounded by family. Sarah was born in Iowa to Harry O'Riley and Flo McGregor-O'Riley. She was of Methodist faith and was educated in Iowa Schools. She worked for Rexall Drugs, Fort Des Moines Iowa Hospital, and the Government Civil Service in Omaha where she received a good conduct medal and merit awards. She married Donald Bell in 1945 and came to Colorado for his health Two children were born; Judith Ann and Douglas Paul. Don Bell passed away in 1988. Sally married Alva Spindle in 1991. Sarah's love of children found her teaching Sunday and Bible Schools, involvement in PTA and Campfire Girls. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Longmont for over 50 years and was an energetic volunteer at the Longmont United Hospital. She enjoyed traveling which took her to Ireland, Alaska, New England, Hawaii, California and the South. Hobbies included hiking, dancing, crocheting, writing p try, cooking, family dinners and picnics. Her love of dancing came from her father who taught her and her siblings to do the Irish jig. She is survived by her husband Alva Spindle of Longmont; daughter Judith and husband Mike Nord of Sacramento, California, son Doug Bell and wife Deb of Johnstown, Colorado; her grandchildren Sean Nord (Janelle) of Folsom, California, Greg Bell (Misha) of Johnstown, Colorado and Coleen Campbell (Matt) of Milliken, Colorado; her Great-Grandchildren Mackenzie and Trevor Bell and Seth and Ainsley Campbell; devoted nephew Dennis George of Longmont and many other nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her sister Joan Williamson (Dean) of West Richland Washington. She is preceded in death by siblings, Bob, Max, Harvey, Mickie and Pat and her first husband, Don. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church prior to service. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday Jan. 23, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, burial to follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
