She was born on October 28, 1947, in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Joe and Olinda Pfeif. She grew up on her father’s dairy farm in Johnstown, Colorado and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1965. Later that year, she married Homer Green with whom she had 2 children and eventually moved to Longmont. After their divorce, she married Don Stratton in November 1982.
Sharon loved her dogs, gardening, sewing, and crafting—especially making handmade bears—and she loved to bowl. She was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed participating in many national, state and local bowling tournaments. She was active in several bowling leagues over the years, serving as league secretary for many of them and contributing her time on related boards. She made many lifelong friends through the sport she loved. Sharon was known for her generous nature, humor and gift for making people feel welcome. May her spirit live on in the laughter she shared, the kindness she gave, and the simple pleasures she loved — especially a good margarita.
She is survived by her children Teresa Gilbert (Doug Lough) of Las Vegas, NV, Joe Green of Hendersonville, NC, her step-children Leslie Anway (Randy) of Marana, AZ, Nikki Bauer (John) of Colorado Springs, CO, Paul Stratton of Colorado Springs, CO and Patrick Stratton (Kay) of Ainsworth, NE, brother Glenn Pfeif (Mary) of Briggsdale, CO, sister Donna Campbell of Sterling, CO, brother-in-law Lyle Stratton of Longmont, CO, brother-in-law Sonny Stratton of Longmont, CO, brother-in-law Gary Stratton (Sharron) of Longmont, CO, Dick Stratton (Carol) of Longmont, CO, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Albert Pfeif and her husband Don Stratton.
