Sherry lived an extraordinary life. Born in Miami, Florida to Josephine Ann Smith and Daniel Paul Leonard, she would keep her Florida roots close to her heart for her whole life. She would later move to Colorado in 1971 with her family.
After graduating from Niwot High School in 1981, she moved back to Florida to the Pensacola Beach area and spent her days basking in the sun. She would then move back to Colorado with her mother JoAnn and two brothers Steve Leonard and Richard Shields.
Sherry started her own family in 1991 with her first son Nikolas Mircos. 7 years later, in 1998, her second son Brandon Sutorius was born.
She would work for numerous organizations as an accountant and would later own an accounting business which she ran for more than 15 years. Sherry had just started her own resale company, flipping unwanted items from garage sales into newfound treasures this past year.
Sherry found immense joy in gardening. Roses, lilacs and Colorado native flowers were her favorite. She was an athletic spirit who loved to play golf with Niko and cherished family outings by going to see musicals with Brandon. In her free time, she traveled the world, finding the best beaches and spending time on cruises. Christmas was her favorite time of year, making sure her house looked like a Hallmark movie while cooking and buying as many gifts as possible for loved ones.
Family was the cornerstone of Sherry’s life. She is survived by her mother JoAnn Shields-Rhodes, her two sons Nikolas Mircos and Brandon Sutorius, her two brothers Steve Leonard and Richard Shields, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, chosen family and two dogs Peanut and Bella.
