Shirley Marie Rowe

Born May 4, 1932 in Montrose, Colorado to James and Gladys Gage and passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2014 in Loveland, Colorado. Shirley graduated from Grand Junction High School and married Ernest Rowe on April 9, 1950 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. After 61 years of marriage, Ernest passed away on December 10, 2011. Ernie and Shirley loved to spend time at their Crystal Lakes cabin. Shirley was devoted to her family; helping Ernie with the insurance business, racing horses, making great Thanksgiving dinners and warm Christmas memories. Shirley could be found in the bleachers cheering on her kids and grandkids playing football, basketball, volleyball and everything in between. She never missed a high school or college graduation. Win or lose, she loved her Denver Broncos. Shirley was a very competitive bridge player; she loved a good game of cards and never liked to lose at anything. She was an avid reader despite her loss of vision. Shirley was the heart and soul of the Rowe Family and held us all together. She was the epitome of grace and beauty. She was tough and never let anyone forget that we are family and that our love for each other is our unbreakable bond. We love you Mom with all our hearts, thanks for giving us a great foundation from which to build our lives.Shirley is survived by her children Shelley, Jamie, John and Pattie, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, sister Joan, husband Ernie, and son Jerry.We would like to thank the staff and community members of Sugar Valley Estates for your love and friendship.A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont Colorado with a reception to follow.
