Steve Earl Gillette

Steven Earl Gillette of Johnson Lake, Nebraska died October 28, 2015 at his home. He was 61. Steve was born March 20, 1954 to Earl and Elaine (Yocum) Gillette. He graduated from Longmont High School, where he lettered in football and baseball. Steve loved the outdoors and using his hands. This led him to a career in the construction field. He worked for a number of years for his Uncle Jim at Yocum Plastering. He then moved to general construction, working as a commercial superintendent for a number of companies. He moved to Nebraska to run projects there and fell in love with the area and stayed.

Preceding him in death was his father Earl Gillette and his wife Robin Beckman Gillette.

Surviving are his mother Elaine Gillette (Steve Nikkel) of Longmont and brother Mark and his wife Marilyn of Littleton, CO; a nephew Kirk Gillette, a niece Britney Hubbart and husband Joel and great nephew Braiden Hubbart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont. A reception will follow. Contributions may be made to the Steve Gillette Memorial Fund, c/o Howe Mortuary.
