Susan Kathleen Katie"" Mehaffy

Katie was born September 25, 1973 in Denver, Colorado, the only daughter of John and Christine (Andersen) Mehaffy. Their family lived in Boulder until moving to Longmont in 1983, where Katie lived for most of her life. She was a graduate of Skyline High School. Katie's greatest accomplishment came in 1999 with the birth of her beloved daughter. Katie enjoyed traveling, playing golf with her dad, and loved the ocean. She had recently taken up running and completed her first Bolder Boulder in May along side her daughter.

She worked in the insurance field as an underwriter for a number of years and was a member of Calvary Church in Longmont.

Survivors include her daughter Lily Christine Mehaffy, her father and stepmother John and Carol Mehaffy all of Longmont, CO and her brother Jon Mehaffy of San Francisco, CA. Her stepbrothers Jason Weinland of Shreveport, LA and Nathan Weinland of Fort Collins, CO further survive her. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Calvary Church, 2101 Gay Street, Longmont.
