Susan E. Richardson

Susan E. Richardson, 70, of Longmont passed away October 30, 2016 at Medical Center of the Rockies. She was born May 28, 1946 in Longmont to Thomas and Marion (Johnson) Bowden. Susan graduated from Longmont High School in 1964. She married David Schell in 1966. They later divorced. She married Gaylord Richardson in 1985, and they also later divorced.Through the years Susan worked in many positions. She was a homemaker, farm wife, and waitress. She also worked as secretary of Highland Ditch Company for many years. In 1995 Susan moved to Texas and retired, eventually returning to Colorado to be closer to her family.Susan was active in UMW and later Abundant Life Church. She loved baking, sewing, spending time with her family and mowing the yard.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Tom Bowden.Susan is survived by her son Wade Schell and wife Sonja, her daughter Kellie Barnes and husband Bill, grandchildren Maggie Barnes, Sam Barnes and Nicholas Richardson, a brother Jim Bowden and wife Gail, two sisters Jeannie Schmelzer and Mary Ann Brindle.A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday Nov. 5, 2016 at Abundant Life Church, 4380 Hwy 66, Longmont, CO 80504. Contributions can be made to Hope Cancer Care Center, 1950 Mountain View Ave., Longmont, CO 80501. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
