Tanya Maria Carter

Tanya Maria Carter, 44, a resident of the Foothills Group Home of Boulder, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Boulder Community Hospital.She was born January 6, 1965 in New York City. Her family lived in New York, California, and Denver before settling in the Boulder/Longmont area in 1971.She had made many friends at Mountain States Children's Home, Carmel Community Living Home, Burke School, Imagine!, and Foothills Group Home. Tanya's love of children was shown at the Montessori school in Boulder where she worked. Tanya will always be remembered for her unconditional love, adventurous spirit, and the happiness she brought to all whom she met.Tanya is survived by her sisters, Pola Swartz and her husband, Mike, and their children, Willy, Mikey and Abigail of Lakewood, Colorado, and Adrea Young and her husband, Ron, and their children, David and Lena of Strasburg, Colorado; and by her mother Ellie Catcher and her husband, John, of Spring Hill, Florida. A memorial service will be held at Mt Hope Lutheran Church, 1345 S. Broadway, Boulder, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Pastor George Hesse will officiate.
