

Theo J. ""Ted"" Susuras, longtime resident of Dacono, CO died at his home on August 21, 2008. He was 93.Ted was born February 21, 1915 in Abbott, Colorado to James and Mary (Kouzios) Susuras. Ted married Helen Anest in Denver, Colorado on July 10, 1948. Ted was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2004.Ted moved from the eastern plains seeking employment. He moved to the Tri-Town area going to work for the Eagle Mine, as a coal miner. Retiring from the mines and using his business acumen, Ted and Helen opened Del Camino Modular Home Sales. They operated this business for 25 years, retiring in 1980. After retiring, he was a daily visitor to his daughter and son-in-law at their Pharmacy in Dacono. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, Boulder. He enjoyed gardening and yard work in his spare time. He enjoyed his time with his adoring granddaughters and his beagle, Barkie.Ted is survived by his daughter, Helen Maria McMurray and her husband William of Firestone; two granddaughters: Natalie and Emily McMurray of Denver; one brother, Nick Susuras of San Jacinto, CA and a sister Helen Sauerbright of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Howe Mortuary with Father Nicholas Dotson of St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Boulder as celebrant. Entombment will follow the service at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the Tri-Town Food Bank.
