Terry M. Tjarks of Berthoud, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on November 23rd, 2021, with his devoted wife, Heather White and sons T.J. Tjarks and J.D. White by his side; after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was their warrior and best friend. He was born on August 23, 1954 in Denver, Colorado to Martin and Evelyn (Snyder) Tjarks.
Terry was born a thrill seeker and loved to drive his race car. He was an ambitious man who started working in construction in 1969 at the age of 15. He bought a jeep so that he could drive to work, without a license. In 1985 Terry started his own company, Pro Drywall, which became a very successful commercial drywall business. He was extremely proud of his work, his workers, and all of his business relationships. He drywalled many homes and buildings in Colorado through the years and enjoyed showing them off to his family.
Terry was a strong family man who loved being at home with Heather and the boys. He met Heather White in 1996 and they married in 2000. The adventures began with the blended family and boy did they have fun! He loved to go camping and 4-wheeling and went as much as possible. Everyone loved Terry. The things that his family will miss the most are his love, compassion, calm and kindness.
Terry is survived by his wife Heather White, who was a career teacher in Longmont, Colorado, daughter Heather Tjarks, sons T.J. Tjarks (Ashley), and J.D. White (Mary), grandchildren, Reagan White and Rowan Tjarks, brother Larry Tjarks, sister Pattie Demple (Matt), and Heather Tjarks' children, Coby and Caden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Evelyn Tjarks.
A Celebration of Life was held in Terry's honor on Wednesday, December 1st at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont. In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations to go to The Fallen Solders Memorial. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy are appreciated and may be shared at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
