

Thelma Ree Enfield of Longmont, Colorado passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 86 years old.Ree, as she was known to her family and friends, was born August 17, 1922, in Afton, Wyoming to Thomas J. and Ethel (Papworth) Call. She graduated from high school in Afton and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Her studies were interrupted by the United States' entry into World War II whereupon she moved to Long Beach, California and worked in a munitions factory to support the war effort.On September 19, 1959, Ree married Ronald Enfield in Grover, Wyoming and raised three children, Judi, Valerie, and Glade. In retirement the couple lived in Oak Grove, Missouri and Paonia, Colorado before moving to Longmont in 2006.Mrs. Enfield had worked as a bookkeeper for several years and later became interested in real estate. She was an avid reader and took time each morning to study her Bible. She enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with family.She is survived by her husband, Ron Enfield of Longmont; daughters, Judi Langer and her husband, John, of Golden, Colorado, and Valerie Wegert and her husband, Darell, of Minturn, Colorado; a son, Glade Enfield of Longmont; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Viegel of St. George, Utah.She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Reuel, Evan, Gerald, Osborne, Spencer and Bob; and two sisters, Vivian and Eileen.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services of Longmont.
