

Thomas H Abshier passed away on September 08, 2025 and he is dearly missed. Tom would do anything for family and friends was always willing to drop everything to help someone in need. If you had the opportunity to cross paths with Tom, you were blessed.
Tom entered this world on December 18, 1959 at William Beaumont Army Hospital in El Paso, Texas, to Shirley and Clarance Sperbeck. Tom graduated high school in 1977 and enlisted in the United States in1979. He proudly served his country until 1985. Other than his travels while in the Navy, most of Tom’s life was spent in Colorado. In his adult years, after marrying his wife, Rosita, he spent extended time in Indonesia with Rosita’s family. He loved his second family in Indonesia very much.
Tom and his lifetime friend and business partner, Rick Bologna, owned and operated Mailco Inc., a successful pre-sort mail business in the Denver metro area for 30 years. Tom was very knowledgeable and well respected in the mail industry. His clients came to him for advice on how to handle their mailing issues. After retirement, Tom spent time at his home in Lakewood, CO when not traveling nationally and internationally.
Tom and Rosita spent eighteen happy years together and were devoted to each other. Tom was a loving husband to Rosita and a good friend to many who knew him. He was always available for good conversation, a hearty laugh and loved discussing current events and the happenings around the world. He enjoyed motorcycles and over the years collected a lot of classics. He also enjoyed his dogs and going on walks with them.
Tom is survived by his wife Rosita, his brother Jerry and his wife Natalie, sisters Victoria and Patti, his stepfather Jon (Frank) Abshier and his wife Cathy, his friend of over 40 years, Richard Bologna, his Indonesian family and many nephews and nieces. Tom is preceded in death by his mother Shirley, father Clarance and sister Debbie.
Services for Tom will be held on Thursday October 23 at 1:30 p.m. Ft. Logan Military Cemetery at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80236. Naval Military Honors will be rendered by All Veterans Honor Guard of Denver and a dignified final salute will be presented by The Honor Bell Foundation.A reception luncheon to follow at Romano’s Italian Restaurant in Littleton, CO.
Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to Tunnels to Towers or the Wounded Warrior Project.
