Thomas was born to Tom and Angie McIntosh, of Sargent, NE. He pursued higher education with great enthusiasm, earning a Bachelor of Science from CU and later a Master’s degree in science from Western State.
Over the course of his professional life, Thomas served with distinction in education, working as a teacher, an administrator, a science coordinator, and an assessment director. His work reflected both a steady commitment to students and colleagues and a sincere belief in the value of learning.
On August 17, 1969, Thomas and his wife, Karen, were married in Longmont, Colorado. Both educators, they built a life shaped by family and shared experience. He is survived by his son Ben (Lara); grandchildren Cyrus and Roxana of Los Angeles, CA; and his son Nat of Madison, WI.
Thomas’s interests were wide-ranging and reflected his curious spirit. He enjoyed art, painting, photography, woodworking, music, theater, dogs, puzzles, RV travel, and riding motorcycles throughout the United States. Throughout the years, Thomas and Karen lived in Colorado, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Australia, before eventually returning to Colorado. Tom's life was marked by steady devotion to those he loved, a strong sense of self, and a sly wit that made him truly unique.
