Tom was born on August 31, 1946 in Niwot, Colorado and lived in Longmont, Colorado for the majority of his life. If you attended Longmont High in the early 60’s, then you knew him as ‘Mr. Trojan.’ An avid three sport athlete that led him to a professional baseball stint with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tom enjoyed a lifetime of competition from billiards and bowling to golf, and maintained a love of baseball until the end. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and studied mechanical engineering. He spoke fondly of his early career at Gould in Longmont where he was proud of his designs and patents he created. He had a wealth of experiences from starting a company to traveling all over the U.S. for sales, his love and knowledge of cars led him into car sales where he helped people find the car that was the perfect fit for many years.
Tom was known among friends and family for his sarcastic humor, witty banter, and love of classic cars, including Corvettes. He was at peace on a quiet morning drinking coffee, reading the Times Call, and completing the crossword puzzle. Spending some time with him in his garage drinking a Bud Light, tinkering with his ‘66 Vette and taking a ride down Apple Valley Rd. with the top down was time well spent. Tom brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
