

He was born in Elcho, Wisconsin to Marjorie M Fish & Edwin E Shulze on May 29, 1950.
Vern was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and had graduate classes at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.
He was a history and literature buff and an avid reader who could keep track of reading 10 books at a time. He was a great conversationalist and had a knack of making others know their opinions matter.
He was a Salesman at Computer Sites in Denver.
Vern was a Born Again Christian, loved Jesus, and was a righteous man who was a good listener and had a gentle spirit.
He followed in his father’s footsteps with a love for music and started playing musical instruments at a young age. He played the bass and sang backup for The Country Touch Band in Lafayette, Colorado for over 40 years.
He loved riding his motorcycle up around small mountain towns and enjoyed hiking and traveling.
Vern was the proud father of Jason Richard (Darla) Shulze, born July 11, 1981.
Other loves included his wife Elizabeth (Reardon) Shulze, nicknamed Smiley, and several West Highland White Terriers who were their “kids”.
Vern was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his wife Smiley, his son Jason Richard (Darla) Shulze, siblings: John (Lien) Shulze, Dean Shulze, Dorothy Summers, Beverly (Mike) Stearney, and Donna (Frank) Straka; and his Westie Bailey.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for May 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, Colorado. It will be officiated by Pastor Steve Shank of City on the Hill Church of Boulder, Colorado.
