

Vernon Wallace Barton (Zoom) of Federal Heights Colorado passed away August 7th, 2015 at the Berthoud Living Center at the age of 79. Born on December 10, 1935 in Lamoure, North Dakota, the son of Wallace Barton and Bernice Exner. He attended Valley City North Dakota grammar school and then Jamestown North Dakota high school. His first job was with the Yellow Taxi Cab Company in Jamestown and then with the Jamestown Mental Hospital, also at this time he joined the Army National Guard and was a light duty truck driver holding the rank of Corporal from 1953 to 1956 when he was honorably discharged.
In his younger years he got involved with stock cars and stock car racing until he later moved to Colorado in 1962.
He married Connie Rae Finnegan in November 1953, Jamestown, North Dakota they had 3 children. They divorced in 1963.
In the early years of living in Colorado Vernon worked for Ranch Whole Sale as a sales associate in Longmont Colorado, then went to work as a Plant processing manager at Longmont Dairy in Longmont. Later he went to work for Western Dairymen Cooperative, Inc. which then became DFA where he retired in December of 1997.
He later married Carla Ann Camp on December 12, 1972 in Boulder Colorado. They lived in Longmont, Mead and then in Federal Heights.
Vernon ( ZOOM ) had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and loved to ride whenever possible. He was one of the founding fathers of a leading motorcycle club in the Western United States which he was real active in and loved with a passion until the day of his passing.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and wife Carla.
Survivors include his Daughter Robin Spurgeon(Greg) of Mitchell Nebraska , Sons Jim Barton(Brenda) of Redmond Oregon and Jay Klug(Kim) Berthoud, Colorado and four grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, Elizabeth, and Crystal and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
