
Virginia M. Black of Longmont, died on April 17, 2012 at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville, Colorado. She was born to Hattie (Goode) and Forrest Black, in Dayton, Ohio where she grew up and attended schools. She moved to Niwot in 1993 to reside with her sister, Mary E. Perry, now deceased.Ms. Black has been retired since September 1, 1990, after working most of her adult life as a regular and legal secretary, and held numerous positions in various phases of bookkeeping.She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church since coming to Niwot. She was also a very active volunteer for the OUR Center in the clothing bank section, and also a member of the Niwot Seniors Advisory Council. In 2000 she received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Boulder Aging Service Division in recognition for outstanding volunteer service to Boulder County.She enjoyed flower gardening, embroidering, and crocheting. She also loved all animals, especially her two cats, Tippy and Mason.Ms. Black was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary E. Perry of Niwot, and Rita J. Mack and husband Charles, of Dayton, Ohio; a step-brother, Patrick Hahn; and a special nephew, William J. Charnock.She is survived by a nephew, Donald A. Perry and his wife, Elaine, and their two sons, Patrick and Michael, of Niwot; and a niece, Barbara Ann Kincaid and her husband, Larry, and her son Michael, of Brookville, Ohio.After being cremated, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Inurnment of cremated remains will take place at Foothills Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Nashville. Tennessee.
