Our beautiful mom Virginia Ann, known as Ginny by most, made the world a better place for everyone she met. Born in Hillsboro, Ohio, she was the eldest child of Mary and Basil Siddons. Ginny was a graduate of Hillsboro High School, where she played the drums in the band and orchestra, won awards for her baking, and was Homecoming Queen in 1945. She married Robert Boyle (also of Hillsboro) in 1946. They lived in Hillsboro and Columbus, Ohio until 1953, when they moved to Miami, Florida with their two sons. In 1959 they relocated to Colorado Springs, CO, where Bob worked for Farmers Insurance. Ginny also worked part-time for a spell, primarily to fund musical instruments for her sons and to bring music into the home with the latest in music, radio and television entertainment. Sounds of George Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, and early rock and roll filled the house. They settled in Longmont, CO in 1962, where Bob took over a Farmers Insurance branch agency, and where their daughter Diane was born in 1963. Ginny was an active member of Longmont's Central Presbyterian Church, where she was a Stephens Minister, deacon, Chairwoman of Priscilla Circle, and a beloved Sunday school teacher. She also assisted Bob in the Farmers office and always greeted clients with a friendly smile. She was a talented stained glass artist, but Ginny was best known for her cooking. Hundreds of people have been fed at her table through the years, sharing stories and laughing together. Her husband Bob predeceased Ginny in 2005. She is survived by sons Darrell (Lauren), Richard (Hermione), daughter Diane, grandchildren Kelly and Conor (Cara), and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by her brothers William (Ann), Donald (Sue), Ronald (Norma), 3 nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Ginny will be remembered as a bright light in many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Central Presbyterian Church in Longmont on Friday, Feb. 27th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Central Presbyterian Church, 402 Kimbark St., Longmont, CO 80501 or to Westview Presbyterian Church, 1500 Hover St., Longmont, CO 80501.
