Virginia G. Davies

Virginia G. Denny Davies, 94, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Memory Care. Virginia was born September 10, 1923 in Lyons, CO which is where she grew up, to Thomas and Mary (Low) Brodie. At age 16, she worked for the telephone company in Lyons in the afternoons after school. When she graduated from Lyons High School, she then worked for them in Denver, CO. On December 8, 1943 she married Ernest (Ernie) Davies in Reno, Nevada. They farmed west of Longmont where they raised their children. Later, Virginia worked for CU in the Alumni Department until she retired. She was a life time member of Longmont Columbine Lions Club and a member of Longs Peak United Methodist Church. She was a member of Alpha Delta Master Sorority and the Altona Grange. She enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie Davies; her daughter, Sharon Palmer; her brothers, John and Billy Brodie; and sister, Fran Brackett. Survivors include her sons: Chuck Davies and his wife, Joyce of Loveland; and Don Davies and his wife, Carol of Longmont; son-in-law, Mike Palmer of Centennial; her sister Peg Brackett and brother-in-law, Frances Brackett; six grandchildren: Robyn Davies; Angie Brown and her husband, Tom; Dawn Davies; Brad Davies and his wife, Kendra; Tami Bean and her husband, Doug; Lori Bl mker and her husband, Ryan; eleven great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Longs Peak United Methodist Church. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
