Virginia Mae Hutchins

Virginia Mae Hutch Hutchins died September 1, 2012 at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville. She was 90 years old.She was born March 29, 1922 in Postville, Iowa to William and Alma (Miene) Kuehling. She moved with her family to Longmont in Nov. 1930. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1940.Virginia married Gilbert C. Hutchins on December 19, 1942 in Longmont. A devoted homemaker and loving mother she spent many years raising and caring for her children. In 1973 she went to work at Longmont United Hospital, first as a Certified Nurses Aid and then as a unit secretary. She retired on Sept. 18, 1996.She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, active there in the Rachel Guild and teaching Sunday School. Virginia was also a member of Extension Club, Columbine Club and Longmont Genealogical Society. She had served on the Board of Directors for the Saint Vrain Manor, was a 4-H and Girl Scout leader, and for 50 years the Superintendent of the Canning Department of the Boulder County Fair and Rodeo.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Virginia is survived by her son Lynn A. Hutchins (Diana) of Warrensburg, MO; two daughters, Helaine R. Nuttall of Longmont and Mary Katie Giles (Larry) of Louisville, five granddaughters, two grandsons and ten great grandchildren.Memorial services will be held 2:30pm Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at the Frist Evangelical Lutheran Church.
