Walter R. Martinez

Walter Ray Martinez, 43, of Longmont, died April 3, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on October 1, 1969, the son of John S. Martinez and Teresa Atler Martinez.

Walter was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of New Creation Church.

Cooking, playing bingo, listening to Spanish music, and spending time with his family & his dog Cocoa were the things Walter enjoyed. He was also an avid Denver Bronco fan.

Survivors include his son Adrian Martinez of Lafayette, his parents of Longmont and his sister Geraldine (Juan Alvarez) Martinez of Dacono and his sister-in-law Shelley Martinez of Longmont. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Michelle Chavez (Jesus Chavez), Jennifer Martinez (George Santos), Reuben Martinez (Pauline Martinez), and Krystal Martinez; Great nieces and nephews, Jordan V. Martinez, Anthony John Martinez, Aalyiah Martinez, Tennessa Martinez, and Alexis Martinez, all of Longmont.

Walter was preceded in death by his brother John Martinez, Jr., his nephew Anthony Ray Martinez, and numerous relatives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, from 4 to 6 pm and followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at Howe Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m. at New Creation Church. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
