Warren Dean Little

It is with great sadness that we announce after many years of battling health issues, Warren returned to the Lord peacefully and painlessly, fitting of his unwavering faith, on Easter Sunday April 21st, 2019 at the age of 84. Warren was born on November 23rd, 1934 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Oscar and Dora Lee. As a young boy, he grew up with great support from his sister Lavon, whom he cherished for all his life, and he often referred to his brother, Carl, as his best friend. Warren was known by many names and titles: Father, Son, Brother, Friend, Neighbor, and, to his grandchildren, Pop. While there are too many qualities that describe Warren to list here, those who remember him knew him by his standouts: A dignified man and friend of integrity, a great provider to his family, and a person who enjoyed and shared the simple things in life. Warren served in the United States Army, which was an achievement he remembered and carried most proudly throughout his entire life, and one by which his own family will always be inspired. His granddaughters Lindsey and Megan take faith in the fact that Warren is once again reunited with his daughter Diana, who preceded him in death. Lindsey and Megan recall memories of their Pop taking them swimming at the YMCA and playing with noodles in the pool, playing golf in the backyard with toy clubs, sitting under the Christmas tree distributing presents, jingling the change in his pockets, and, especially, greeting them with there's my girls! when they entered the house. A telling quality of Warren was that one would never find him empty handed “ whether it be a grandchild in his arms or a gardening tool in his hand, Warren never wasted a productive moment. When Warren was not tending to his own gardening, one might have often found him on a golf course enjoying a sport he loved; one of his own finest and most cherished memories was playing golf with Greg Norman, the then-number one golfer in the world.  passion for golf extended beyond himself, however, as he instilled a love and discipline for the game in his two grandsons Andrew, who played golf for UNC's club team, and Ryan, who hopes to also play golf in college. Warren will always be remembered for his fierce independence, relentless strength, and mighty loyalty to his family and faith. Warren was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Dora Lee Little, sister Lavon Chambers, brother Carl Little, infant sisters Evelyn Little and Alma Little, daughter Diana Saunders, and nieces Leigh Chambers Coleman and Manthie Little Newland. He is survived by his wife Anna-Maria; son Bruce (Juanita) Little; son Michael Little; daughter Karen (Robert) Moline; grandchildren Celeste Shye Little, Lindsey Saunders, Megan Saunders, Andrew Moline and Ryan Moline; niece Carla (Larry) Branscum and nephews Arnold (Brenda) Little, Tony (Sharon) Little, Mark (Jean) Chambers and Derek (Teresa) Chambers.
