Forever loved, William Harris (Bill) Teasdale, passed away at home surrounded by his wife, Rebecca, and daughters, Annalise and Serafina. Bill was born in Spokane, WA to Charles and Diana White Teasdale. At age five he moved to Boulder, CO where he was raised by his grandparents, Ed and Shirley Teasdale. Bill settled in Longmont, CO where he and his wife, Rebecca, started their family with the birth of Annalise in 2000 and the adoption of Serafina in 2005. They pursued many dreams during their 26-year marriage while mutually supporting each other’s careers and personal endeavors. They felt blessed in life with fulfilling careers, great friends, and wonderful children all while surrounded by the natural beauty of Boulder County.
Bill loved and adored his wife, girls and three Jack Russell Terriers. He was a dedicated father and most enjoyed spending time with his family sharing common passions and teaching them through his words and actions how to live a good life. Bill was guided by an unambiguous sense of right and wrong and every pursuit he undertook he did with passion and a commitment to excellence. His humility, his rock-solid moral foundation and his strong work ethic in all things left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Bill loved fitness and athletics in many forms. Among his strongest passions was competitive cycling. Bill was a staple in the Colorado cyclocross scene for many years as a racer and ultimately as a promoter running national-level UCI races back in the heyday of the US ‘cross scene. Later, in spite of living in a landlocked state, Bill took up surfing, traveling to his favorite beaches, from Santa Cruz, CA to Nosara, Costa Rica, in search of the best waves. His friend Dan introduced him to river surfing on the South Platte where he was instantly hooked and continued learning a new challenging sport when he received his diagnosis.
Bill’s love of great coffee and his entrepreneurial streak led him to co-found Longmont based Nimbus Coffee Roasters with his brother-in-law, Chris Bounds, almost 10 years ago. He was thrilled to realize his dream of starting a small business, which continues to thrive today.
Bill adored his work family at Bristol Realty Counselors where he was a commercial real estate appraiser for over 20 years. Through his work, he developed a large community in Boulder County, enjoying lasting friendships and an extensive professional network.
What may best define Bill was his commitment personal transformation and self-improvement. Throughout his life, he was constantly reinventing himself and discovering new passions and interests. Bill embodied an enviable level of thoughtfulness and open mindedness, always willing to hear out others’ opinions and challenge his own belief system. He was an avid reader.
Over the last year of his life, Bill inspired us with his courage and resolve in the face of illness. Through the setbacks and limitations brought on by cancer, he never complained and in true Bill fashion, he faced his days with an upbeat outlook and a smile.
Bill’s family and friends are humbled by the time they spent with him. He will always be beloved and remembered as a devoted friend, a great husband and an inspiring father to his girls.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rebecca, of 26 years; daughters Annalise and Serafina; brother-in-law Chris Bounds; niece Nicole Bounds; aunt Pamela Teasdale; and cousin Anthony Scalia.
