

Wilma was born on March 21, 1924 in Longmont to Henry Stugart and Katherine Befus Stugart. Raised in Longmont, she graduated from Longmont High School in 1942.
Wilma met John “Bud” Smith during a Jitney dance at Roosevelt Park. They were married on May 17, 1946 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She worked as a dental assistant for both Dr. Harold Gorder and Dr. William Fergerson in Longmont. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for a number of years.
Wilma and Bud adopted all their nieces and nephews, as their own and made them a focus of their lives. They shared all holidays and free time, treating them as their own children and following the great nieces and nephews in all they participated in.
Preceding her in death are her husband; a brother Ray Stugart and a sister Nadine Hill.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews; Ron (Linda) Stugart of Berthoud; Dianne Torbeck of Grand Junction; Louanne (Roy) Siemens of Red Bluffs, California; Cheryl Hervey of Longmont; Alan Hill of Longmont; Linda (Dick) Winter of Greeley; and Jennifer (Jim) Miller of Longmont; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30 in the Howe Mortuary Community Room, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. also in the Howe Mortuary Community Room. Interment services will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
