

Winifred (Win) was born on October 29, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Andrew and Rena Peck. She attended Lakeview High School. She met the love of her life, Richard Ott, on a blind date and they were united in marriage in June, 1952. Winifred called Longmont her home for 66 years. She loved taking walks down by the lake, was a supporter of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and a member of PEO. Win worked at the Longmont Public Library before she retired after 18 years of dedicated service. After retiring, you could still find her volunteering weekly at the library. She was also a member of the Heart of Longmont United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
Winifred was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed water aerobics which she did regularly until her late 80’s. She also enjoyed camping, watching the Rockies, participating in Girl Scouts with her daughters and traveling with family. One of her favorite places to visit was Rocky Mountain National Park where each fall she went to hear the elk bugle and view the turning of the aspen trees.
Winifred was preceded in death by her husband Richard D. Ott, her parents, brothers Andrew, Phil, Roy, Les, and Harold, sister Shirley Gadbois, and her daughter-in-law Cindy Ott. Left to cherish her memory are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard Ott of Greeley, Colorado; Linda (Dennis) Edwards of Grand Junction, Colorado; Melanie (Joe) Schwarte of Eugene, Oregon; Karen (Brent) McCracken of Anton, Colorado; and Amy (DeWayne) Dukes of Overland Park, Kansas. She also had twelve grandchildren: Keenan (Sara), Paul, Nathan, Kendall (Brandi), Kensley, Kiley (Sam), Alex, Hannah, Molly, Abby, Jordan and Austin and six great grandchildren: Tyrus, Troy, Amerlyn, Noah, Nic and Blayke.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Heart of Longmont United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Heart of Longmont United Methodist Church or the Friends of Longmont Library.
