Born on April 25, 1963, to Mary and Dewight Colburn, Beverly lived a full and vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She attended Western High School before leaving in 1980 to care for her daughter, later proudly earning her GED alongside her mother.
Beverly had a passion for caring for others. She worked as a teacher at Southside Christian Childcare, where she cared deeply for the infants and toddlers she taught. She also worked for many years as a hairstylist and was a longtime employee at Pull-A-Part.
She was a free spirit who loved music, dancing, and especially time spent at the beach with her best friend Janice. Her joy was contagious—her smile could light up any room, and her laugh would make everyone stop and smile. Beverly had a gift for making everyone feel like family, and many knew her as "Nana." She was known for her bright red hair and soft blue eyeshadow—colors as vivid and unforgettable as she was.
She is survived by her loving mother, Mary Colburn (Chilton); sister Shelia Gossman; brothers Ronald Colburn (Fran), and in-laws Dirk Turner (Pam), Mike Turner (Rhonda), and Judy Turner. She leaves behind her cherished children Cheryl Jaggers (Jason) and Roger Turner Jr; grandchildren Ottis, Haley, and Cierra Jaggers, Vincent and Madeline Turner; and great-grandchildren Salem Jaggers-Ellingsworth and Teresa Shultz. She was also a second Nana to TayTay, AJ, and Cratos, and a proud aunt to Jennifer Huckbee, Erika Rogers, Bryan Rogers, David Turner, Aaron Turner, and Steven Turner.
Beverly was welcomed into Heaven by her father Dewight Colburn, her former husband and love of her life Roger Turner, her best friend Janice, several beloved aunts and uncles, mother-in-law Clara Turner, and her great-aunt Iva Horn.
She also leaves behind her faithful companion, her dog Harley Leroy.
Beverly touched countless lives with her enormous heart and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her—but this is not goodbye, it’s simply until we meet again.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29 from 11-2 pm at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel 10907 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral will be Friday August 29 at 2pm. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery.
