Carol was a retired elementary teacher and librarian with Jefferson County Public Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students with her kindness, creativity, and passion for learning. A lifelong Disney enthusiast, Carol found joy in Disney World and Disney Cruises, often describing them as her "happy place."
Beyond her love for travel, Carol enjoyed scrapbooking and delving into family history through ancestry research. Her memory will be cherished by her mother, Nancy Hawkins; her sister, Holly Cloyd (Tommy); and her beloved nieces and nephews — Ethan, Layla, Calli, and Ryker — affectionately known as her “four little minions.” She is also survived by her adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dear group of friends known as the Mercy Girls.
Services will be private, and entombment will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Carol’s warmth, adventurous spirit, and love for family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
