

Darrell was a proud U.S. Army veteran who lived his life with a sense of adventure and a heart full of love for his family and friends. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and could always be counted on to help those around him.
Darrell was a Mason, and one of his favorite places was Hot Springs, South Dakota, where he felt truly at peace.
He leaves behind the love of his life of three years, Susan Pierce, his daughter whom he loved fiercely, Zoey Mattingly, his father Darrell Mattingly Sr., his sister DeAndre Mattingly, his nephews and nieces, Davon, Trace, and DeLayna Benham, his bonus kids Andrea Pierce, Nathaniel Pierce, and Brianna Stewart. He also adored his bonus grandson, Dakota Dobson, and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members.
Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Ann Mattingly.
His life was full of love, laughter, and commitment to helping others. Even in death, Darrell gave one final gift by donating his organs to help those in need.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to www.22ADAY.org a cause that was close to Darrell’s heart, working to raise awareness for veterans struggling with mental health.
Visitation will be held on October 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 10907 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky, 40272.
The funeral service will follow on the same day, October 7, 2025, starting at 7:00 pm at the same location.
