She was preceded in death by her husband, Golden Barnes; sons, Jimmy, David, Larry, and Carroll Barnes; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Ashby (Paul); sister, Emily Ford; brothers, Daniel, Tommy, Ronald, and Philip Thompson; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 Friday at W.G. Hardy Funeral Home, 10907 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Knob Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday.
