John valued his family above all, especially his grandson and his loyal dog. He loved being outdoors and camping. He enjoyed a good game of chess and took pride in being a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonathan and Nancye Houck. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Houck (Keisha), and two grandsons, Jonathan and Adrian, who brought him so much joy. He also leaves behind his sisters: Francie Nichols, Barbie Kratz, Kathryn Allen, and Leigh Anna Ganey.
A visitation for John will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home located at 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location. Burial will take place afterward at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272.
