It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Kenneth "Kenny" Nall, who left us peacefully on August 26 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmet Nall; mother, Charlotte Nall (Holland); brothers, Jerry Nall and Tiger Nall; and sister, Vickie Nall.
A devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Kenny was a man of strength, wisdom, and unwavering love. He spent his life providing for his family offering guidance, support, lots of fun and laughter through all of life’s seasons.
Born on May 18,1954 in Louisville, KY, Kenny built a life rooted in integrity and kindness. He attended DeSales High School (Louisville, KY) where he was a standout athlete and graduated in 1973. Kenny continued his education at the University of Kentucky where he walked on and played football and graduated with his bachelor degree. Kenny started his career with the city of Louisville as a firefighter where he retired as a captain. Kenny was respected for his dedication and work ethic, but more than his career, it was his role as a father and grandfather that he cherished most.
He had a passion for just living life, and made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed golfing, spending time at the lake, going to Florida and throwing the biggest party at Derby, either on the backside or in his back yard. He Loved watching his Wildcats play and enjoyed watching all sports sitting in his garage. He taught us not only how to live but how to love — fully, patiently, and without condition.
He is survived by his three daughters, Blaire (Mike), Dana (Shane), and Karah (Kenney); grandkids Adyson, Kingsten, Kynadee, Finnley, Murphy and Milo; girlfriend Joyce Cash; brother Tony Nall (Carol); sisters Pam Gunion (George) and Tracie Terrell; and many nieces and nephews, who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will forever be felt in our hearts, our stories, and the values he instilled in us.
A funeral Mass for Kenny will be held at 10:00 am Monday, September 1 at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 4335 Hazelwood Ave, followed by cremation. Visitation will be from 1-8pm Sunday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share in remembrance.
The family will be having a celebration of life after the Mass at the American Legion Post 220, 2107 Crums Lane, Louisville, KY 40216.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeSales High School, in honor of his generous spirit. In true Kenny fashion please wear your favorite Hawaiian or UK attire to the visitation.
Rest peacefully, Dad. We will miss you deeply, love you always, and remember you forever.
