

Pamela Savoy, Jarvis was born in Richmond, Virginia on December 18, 1943. She was the oldest of her only brother Ernest Savoy that preceded her homegoing after graduating from high school in Virginia, she was ready to conquer the world. Her parents emphasize educational excellence, so she attended the HBCU, Morgan, State University at which time she became a member of Alpha, Kappa, Alpha Sorority, Inc. Pamela was a rebel! She was part of the 60s movement. However, Pamela had to return home to care for her parents. She manage to take care of her parents and received her Bachelor Degree of Science in Education at Virginia Union University, a private, historically, black university.
Pamela moved to Chicago and fulfilled her dreams as an advocate and teacher with the Chicago public school system for many years. She later moved to Detroit, Michigan, worked at Wayne State University and received a certificate in urban development. Pamela met her wonderful, husband, William Jarvis, and they later moved to Louisville, Kentucky.
Remember, education was part of her DNA. Pamela worked for JCPS As a elementary teacher at Stonestreet and Sanders elementary. Later, she received a masters degree in library media from Western Kentucky University. In 2012, she retired from Okolona elementary as a librarian with the Jefferson county public Schools.
Left to celebrate her memory are her children, Gregory Jarvis, grandchildren, nephew, and many cousins and friends, we are confident that her heavenly journey began with re-reuniting with her husband, William Jarvis, as they now dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Pam’s funeral will be held at Okolona Church of Christ, 6105 Outer Loop Road Louisville, KY 40219 Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 12 Noon. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 11am to the service time at church. Advantage funeral Home Hardy Chapel are entrusted with her arrangements.
