Ronnie always loved a party. And even in his new home, he continued to enjoy what they called”Happy Hour” , at Valley Farms, where they played music and danced. And they celebrate at many events with the residence. We want to say thank you to all the nurses and CNA‘s who danced and sang with Ronnie. They even had a guy that comes to entertain them and he allowed Ronnie to karaoke with him.
You know, in the next realm of life we only take one thing with us. We cannot take our possessions. We cannot take fame. We cannot take anything of this world. But we can take love. Love is built in and through our relationships. And we believe that Ronnie loved all of us. We thank uncle Ronnie for loving us all so much. Remember Ron by showing love and telling those I love you daily. 
In the Bible verse 1 Corinthians 13 through 17 which is often referred to as the love chapter and is red at many weddings. In this passage written by apostle Paul, is often interpreted as describing God’s love for all of us, the type of love that we as believers should strive to embody in our relationship with others.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongdoing.
Love does not delight and evil, but rejoices with truth.
It always protects, always trust, always hopes and always preserves.

After Dan‘s death, we really think his and Rhonda‘s relationship grew closer. Rhonda had seizures at a very young age and could never be left alone. She lived with uncle Ronnie and they did a lot of things together. He was very dedicated father to his daughter. Wherever Ronnie went, Rhonda went with him. It was very sad to see him bury another child and we lost Rhonda about five years ago. after Rhonda‘s passing, uncle Norman decided that Ronnie shouldn’t live alone. So aunt Diane and uncle Norman open their home to Ronnie. Uncle Norman and aunt Dianne we want to say thank you. You guys have been a blessing to many family members, but not only opening your home and caring for others needs before your own but always be there to support all of us. You are our heroes!
This was the start of his journey with the disease dementia. The sad thing about this disease is that we lost Ronnie long before he died. God had a plan we may not like it or understand it. But one thing I know is that when Ronnie moved in with Norman and Dianne he went back to Church. we don’t know the spiritual transformation that happened in the midst of all of Ronnie suffering. But he went to church at Saint Peter the apostle and there he found a great community. He joined the friendship club and the St. Lawrence senior group. He created another bomb with his siblings who were also involved in the group. And he made new friends now my brother David Hooper said he saw Ronnie at church every Sunday, every Sunday for years. He was at Churchhill Downs.
Ronnie always supported all of his family. He showed up at the graduations, the weddings, and the funerals. He attended Chris and Julie’s Fourth of July party, Mike and Deneane’s derby party and Davids Christmas party. One year showed up with a cooler beer at David’s a week early because he was so excited to watch the game with family and party!

One of Ronnie’s favorite gatherings  was, “The Brothers Annual Fishing Trip”. For 25 years they gathered at Kentucky Lake. They had childhood friends, Kenney, Jack and Gary, who drove up from Tennessee to play cornhole, horseshoes, poker, drink, beer, white, lightning, and a little bit of peach moonshine.
There was about 12 to 14 friends gathered every year. The first year they caught over 500 fish. They would celebrate every year with a big fish fry at Kentucky lake and then bring the cat chin’s home to another fish fry and a swim party at his brother George’s house.
This tradition expanded where they invited all their sons and nephews. Again, family was important to Ronnie and his brothers. There are many other things that Ronnie enjoyed. Kentucky, basketball and the Cincinnati Reds baseball. He played a lot of golf and watched a lot of golf on TV. He was in so many bowling leagues throughout his life. He liked shooting pool, playing poker and cards, horse racing and gambling, he was a good dancer and he loved, loved, loved to sing karaoke music! He sang songs from the 60s, he loved Johnny Cash and country music. He bought a karaoke machine and practicing in his living room. He brought that karaoke machine to mini family events. He loved to have fun. And whenRonnie found something he loved, he was really dedicated.
We also know that he really loved his kids. They were his life. But it was a tragic term for Ron when is Sun Donnie was 16’ riding his bike home and a drunk driver hit him and killed him.
This is the hardest thing a parent can ever endure. Losing a child, but we know that we never really lose them, we just give them back to God and also you never get over it, but you can get through it.
That’s where support and prayer from family and friends come in. And again family was very important to Ronnie. He has always been surrounded by by his extended family, good brothers, good sisters, nieces, and nephews and great friends.

Ronald Lee Kuhn born on June 16, 1942 was the fourth child of Aloysius and Clara Cohn. He had two sisters and three brothers. He was the only sibling born in a hospital, everyone else was born at home. He was baptized Catholic at Saint Anne’s church where he also received his first holy communion and was confirmed. He attended eight years of school at Saint Anne’s in Louisville, Kentucky. He went to DeSales high school for the ninth grade. And he finished his education and graduated from Ahren’s trade school. He and his brothers were Boy Scouts for several years in their childhood. After high school, Ronnie served his country and the United States Navy for six years. After his service, he returned home to Louisville, Kentucky until he land at a job with Reynolds metal. Which is famous for the aluminum foil known as Reynolds wrap the Best wrap around. He worked as a machinist until he retired in his 60s.
Every Christmas, Ronnie would give granny, his sisters and his sister-in-law’s a big role of aluminum foil. This was the excess fall that usually was thrown out, but Ronnie shared it with his family.
Ronnie was a very good looking guy. He always had pretty girls around. Until he met the prettiest girl, Annie. They were married in 1972. At the reception, when they showed up the band was not there. Ronnie was so disappointed because he wanted live music for their reception. He loved music and he loved to dance. There was a jukebox there that had five records in it. He gave his nieces, Karen and Janine a roll of nickels and told them to keep playing the songs.
This was the beginning of their life. In 1973 Rhonda was born and after her came Donnie. Ronnie loved his kids.
One of the very special things about Ronnie’s life is that he had a very close relationship with his siblings. Not everyone can say that. They gather together for all sorts of special events. One of his favorite was, “ the Brother’s fishing trip”.  To be continued….
