He was born on August 23, 1961, in Madisonville to the late Jewell Wayne Thomas and Evelyn Christine Cottrell Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, Dave McGuiness.
Stanley worked as a smokehouse operator at Land of Frost in Madisonville. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and held the title of Master Mason. He enjoyed collecting coins, watching television, and tinkering with various projects.
He is survived by his three sons: Stanley Wayne (Linda) Thomas Jr. of Chicago, IL; Nicholas Steven Thomas of Madisonville; and Ryan Walker (Sarah) Thomas of Alabama. He is also survived by his brother, Phillip Thomas of Louisville, KY; his half-brother, Jesse Melton McGuiness of Louisville; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
