Born in Baltimore, Maryland, ‘W.W.’ became a member of the United States Air Force and served overseas, completing two tours in Vietnam during War, Wayne was a proud Veteran, and a proud American. After taking shrapnel to his knee, he returned stateside to complete his military service in Washington DC where he met his future wife, Nancy.
The pair settled down in Louisville KY where Wayne completed his Associate’s Degree and accepted a career with the City of Louisville, working for the Metropolitan Sewer District. For many years a bowler, a fanatic for anything Kentucky Derby related, his retirement years led to a love of cruising and cuisine. He is survived by his wife Nancy, and his son Brian.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on February 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, located at 7710 Dixie Highway, his Memorial Service will follow on the same day at the same venue at 7:00 pm.
