Albert Donald Carpender

Bert was born December 19, 1926 in Placerville, California to Marion (Jacquier) and Bert Edwin Carpender.

Bert enjoyed being outdoors and doing woodworking. He also enjoyed traveling and hiking. Bert was a Scout Master for Troop 196. He was also a Shriner, a Mason, and a Scottish Rite. Bert worked at Chevron for 43 years before his retirement. He loved playing baseball during his Air Force tenure.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Carpender of Lufkin; daughter, Carol Ann Havis and husband Steve of Lufkin; son, David Bert Carpender and wife Kay of Huntsville. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
