Albino de La Cruz

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for Albino De La Cruz, with Reverend Victor A. Hamon, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friend and loved ones from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. De La Cruz, 82, of Diboll, was born November 10, 1928 in Piedras Negras, Mexico, the son of the late Teresa (Palacios) and Feliciano De La Cruz. He passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. De La Cruz was retired from Temple-Inland. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Survivors included his sons, Juan De La Cruz, Raul De La Cruz, Jesus De La Cruz and Javier De La Cruz and wife Hortencia, all of Diboll; daughters, Maria E. Vazquez and husband Pedro of San Antonio, Maria T. Hinojosa and husband Jose of San Jose, CA, Rosa E. Iniguez and husband Jose of San Jose, CA, Bertha A. Lara and husband Marcos of Diboll, Magdalena Vazquez and husband Jesus of Houston and Gloria A. De La Cruz of Diboll; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Monica Valbuena and husband Jose and Vicenta Quiroz; and a number of other family members.

Mr. De La Cruz was preceded in death by his wife, Amparo De La Cruz on June 30. 1999; his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Juan De La Cruz, Raul De La Cruz, Jesus De La Cruz, Javier De La Cruz, Marcos Lara, and Jorge Luna.
