Arthur Fisher, 87, of Lufkin, was born November 30, 1923 in Lufkin, TX and passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. in a local hospital. Mr. Fisher worked at and retired from Lufkin Foundry and Woodland Heights Medical Center. He was a Master Mason in Lodge No. 669, A.F. & A.M. in Lufkin, TX. He served in World War II with the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Fisher; son, Jerry Fisher; daughter, Patricia Batson; four grandchildren, Mellissa Page, Michael Batson, Jerry Fisher and Karen Havard; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Melinda Davis; five brothers; and two sisters.
Services for Mr. Fisher will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 in Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bud Davis and Bro. Doug Bullard officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, followed by Masonic services under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge No. 669, A.F. & A.M.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
