Betty Jo Roy

Betty Jo was born November 27, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of Ollie (Gann) and Lee Graham, and passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on February 8, 2013 in an assisted living facility in LaPorte.

Mrs. Roy graduated from Lufkin High School in 1947 and was a twirler in the band. She attended a local business school. She retired as an executive assistant with Todd Shipyard in Pasadena. She remained close friends with her fellow students. She was a part of five special friends, known as the "Fantastic 5", who are Betty Jo, Lois Faye, Marceille, Doris Nell and Mary. She was very active in the Pasadena First Baptist Church and was a member for 57 years and also a member of the Hope Sunday School class.

Survivors include niece, Cathy Swim and husband, Mark; nephew, Gary Graham and wife, Juliane; nephew, Robert Graham and wife, Sonya; niece, Sue Miller; and numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Roy ; and brothers, Linwood Graham and Melvin Graham.
