Bruce was born in El Paso, Texas on December 15, 1954, to the late Paul Maxwell Durham and Jimmie Beth (Jordan) Durham. Bruce led a joyous life here on this Earth before receiving his Heavenly reward.
Bruce graduated from Diboll High School in Diboll, Texas in 1973 and later attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Bruce was a lifelong learner and pursued multiple lines of interest via online courses.
During his career, Bruce held several customer-facing roles in the industrial equipment supply industry. Bruce joined Motion Industries in 1994 in Houston, Texas and later transferred to the Lufkin office where he worked until his death. Bruce was an integral part of the Motion family, always willingly sharing his vast knowledge with the team and customers. Prior to his career in industrial equipment parts and sales, Bruce worked in a variety of fields including oil and gas services and forest products.
Bruce cherished and loved his family and his extended network of friends, which included multiple best friends. Bruce was a kind, generous, and joyful soul, freely sharing his gifts of wisdom, time and compassion. Bruce chose to be happy, and his infectious belly laugh and his loud “Boo-Yay” when things were going especially well would leave you feeling better and happier simply by being in his presence. Bruce was an avid reader and a history buff, especially focusing on World War II. He loved to fish, and he was a diehard supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros, and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed sharing a cold brewski or two with his buds while watching sports or swapping tall tales. Bruce celebrated the simple pleasures — a fresh haircut, connecting with friends, a good cup of coffee, and a home-cooked meal, especially when it included a perfect giblet gravy during the holidays.
Bruce continued to support the History Center in Diboll, occasionally joining interviews that became part of the oral history of the community.
To cherish his memories, Bruce leaves behind his sister Lauri Durham White and her husband Steve of Austin, Texas; niece Amanda Demarest and her husband Scott of Aurora, Colorado and their sons Azure, Maxwell, Teddy, and Oliver; as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Bruce was predeceased in death by his parents and maternal grandparents Willis and Ervelia Jordan and paternal grandparents Paul and Mary Lou Durham.
