Cecil Wayne Morris

Services for Wayne Morris, 87, of Lufkin, were held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5205 S. First Street, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Elton Musick officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Morris was born September 23, 1927 in Diana, Texas, the son of the late Etta Mae (Knight) and E. W. Morris. He passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mr. Morris was a retired maintenance supervisor for Georgia Pacific.

Survivors include his wife of more than 70 years, Addie Lee Morris of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ben Ford of Diboll; daughter, Judy Stephens of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brad Hampton and wife Karen of Lufkin, Teri Hampton of Baytown, Jay Morris and wife Erin of Frisco, Todd Morris and wife Kelly of Diboll, Dustin Ford and wife Tracy of Diboll; Darci McLin and husband Mark of Diboll, and Darla Lowery and husband Jody of Etoile; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Wayne Morris; 1 sister; and 5 brothers.

Mr. Morris’ grandchildren, Dustin Ford, Mason Ford, Todd Morris, Seth Morris, Brad Hampton, and Cody McLin served as pallbearers.
