Charles Eugene Weeks, Jr. was many things, but a form letter, or fill in the blank obituary, he was not. Charles' legacy as he would know and tell of it, was his family, the love in it, and the faith that binds that love together. He was born on July 13, 1925, and from there he was the devoted son to Geneva (Ryan) Weeks, and Charles Weeks, Sr., who preceded him in death. Charles was the eldest of five children: Ann Weeks Cady (Frank), Jack Weeks (Margaret), H. J. Morris (Hallabee), and Mary Ella Davis (Kenneth). He served proudly, with honor and duty, in World War II in the U. S. Navy. He fought in the South Pacific Theatre, where he achieved the rank of Seaman First Class. Before joining the Navy, he had not been out of his own county. Upon arrival home from his service to our country, Charles became the husband to Edythe (Henry) Weeks in 1948. Edythe, the love of his life, has been busy preparing his place in heaven since August of 2009. Charles has two children, Mary Florence Weeks Hendry, and Charles E. Weeks III (Karol), who brought joy to his life from their birth to the tender and loving care that was provided by them in these last years. To them he was their sweet, tender, and comical father. He has six grandchildren, Patrick O'Tierney (Kathy), Brad Tierney (Lynn), Brock Hendry (Bridgette Hocke), Natalee Kauffman (Bret Kauffman), William Weeks (Katie Weeks) and Brian Weeks (Rachael Esman). To his grandchildren, he was Papa, and Papa forevermore. His eight great-grandchildren include Bridgette O'Tierney (Lam Chan), Brendan O'Tierney (Michelle), Deirdre O'Tierney, Jason Kauffman, Aron Kauffman, Kerra Kauffman, Kate Kauffman, and Jayleigh Weeks. His family also included many loving great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and folks who still claim kin, because the family link is so strong that even generations back we all have been told how we are related. He provided for his Country and his family, while instilling a faith everlasting in many generations. He worked as a superintendent of construction, retiring from Thomas and Thompson Construction Company.
