

Services for Charlsie Faye Willcox, 93, of Lufkin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Gipson Funeral Home, with Bro. Seth Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.
Faye Wright was born on August 10, 1932, in Canton, Texas, to Charles J. Wright and Gordie (Peg) Miller and passed away November 25, 2025. She had been a resident of Angelina County since 1941. Faye was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she enjoyed reading, studying her Bible daily, and hearing the gospel preached. She was known for her love of crocheting, which she shared with family and friends, and for her cooking, especially her dumplings, which she delighted in serving to her granddaughters and other loved ones.
Faye and Ottis Stringer were married for 26 years. Together they raised two boys, enjoyed movies with younger siblings and picnicking at Boykin Springs before his death in November of 1970. Then she married Harvey Willcox, were married for 24 years and served as ministers of the gospel. Together, they helped build a new church at Alco Baptist Church and also served at Wakefield Baptist Church and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for eight years. Upon their retirement in 1992, Faye and Harvey were commissioned to serve in the Mission Service Corps, traveling throughout Texas and New Mexico to spread the gospel until 1997. After the passing of her husband, Faye moved back to Lufkin to be with family, where she continued to serve her Lord faithfully.
Survivors include son, Daryl Stringer and wife, Frances; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Carver and husband BL, Wanda Brock and husband Dewayne, Daryl Allan Stringer and wife Lisha; 6 great grandchildren, Jessica Jenkins, Sara McDonald and husband Mikey, Tristan Nerren and fiancé Addisen King, Cory Brock, Taylor Stringer and wife, Ashton, and Avy Stringer, all of Lufkin; 8 great-great grandchildren, Lexi, Delilah, Lathan, Levi, Brecken, Scarlett, Rory, and Remi; brothers, Derrel Wright and wife Shirley of Cut N Shoot, Texas and Wesley David Wright of Lufkin, Texas; and numerous other relatives.
Faye was preceded in death by her son, Lance Corporal Ottis Edward Stringer, U.S. Marine, who gave his life for our country on July 12, 1969, in Quang Tri, Vietnam, at the age of 21; her first husband, Ottis James Stringer; second husband, Harvey Willcox; her parents, Charles J. Wright and Gordie (Peg) Wright; her twin brother, Charles Ray Wright and wife Jeanetter; her brother, Lloyd Wright and wife Martha; her sister, Sandra Jean Wright and husband Jack Parrott; her sister-in-law, Janice Neyland Wright; and great-great-granddaughter, Nova Faye Brock.
Pallbearers will include Tristan Nerren, Cory Brock, Taylor Stringer, Roger Parrott, Bill Wright, and Don Wright.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home.
