Daryl Joyce Proffitt

Daryl was the beloved wife of Jimmy Wesley Proffitt, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage, devotion, and love. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; her children, Cristopher Proffitt and wife Kim, Jeffery Proffitt and wife Brenda, Amy Wechsler and husband Russ, and Stacy Shramek and husband Troy; her grandchildren, Matthew Jensen, Garrett and Christian Wechsler, Jayce Proffitt, and Bryson and Tiegen Shramek; and her great-grandson, Isaiah Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Dair McFatter and Ina Lucille Jenkins McFatter, and by her sister, Donna Rae Salsbery.

Daryl had a servant’s heart and was a caregiver in every sense of the word. She loved to cook and took joy in caring for those around her. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life—she faithfully taught Sunday School and shared the Word of God with anyone willing to listen. Daryl dearly loved her church and cherished the friendships formed through her and Jimmy’s Friday Night Date Night Group.

The family extends special thanks to Hospice in the Pines for their compassionate care and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at First Church of the Nazarene, with details to be announced.
