Dell Goodman Kendrick

Services for Dell Goodman Kendrick, 88, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Charles Roberts and Bro. Jeff Moats officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kendrick was born September 12, 1924 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Emma (Rivers) Goodman and John Goodman. She went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2013.

Dell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, homemaking, and serving in her Church. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church for the past 54 years and had served in various children's programs and the nursery. She always had a smile, a kind heart, and an extra place at the table for anyone arriving unexpectedly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Kendrick, her parents, brothers: Hal Goodman, James Goodman, and Robbie Lee Goodman, sisters: Johnnie Mae Taylor, Murel Russell, Tennie Anderson, and Hazel Long.

Survivors include her brother, Claude Goodman, children and their spouses, Harold and Sharon Kendrick of Grand Prairie, Texas, Martha and Allan Hodges of Pickerington, Ohio, grandchildren: Ronda Krontz of Tomball, Misty Ferris of Grand Prairie, Ashley McRuiz of Longview, Alyssa Wilson of Pickerington, Ohio, and Tyson Hodges of South Lebanon, Ohio, great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Ryan, and Tiffany Krontz, Wesley and Tyler Ferris, Katie McRuiz, Moriah, Caleb, Nathan, Grace, and Lily Wilson, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Mrs. Kendrick's family wish to thank our wonderful and dedicated caregiver, Tanya Tharp and the caring staff at Hospice in the Pines for the love and care shown to her.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Anderson, Johnny Charanza, Jacob Charanza, Eddie Pahal, Todd Ferris and Tim Mathews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tyson Hodges, Peter Wilson, Jeoff Krontz and Jeremy McRuiz.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home
