Mrs. Earlene Alma Whitter Davidson

Earlene Alma Davidson, 71, of Lufkin, was born November 3, 1938 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Corrine (Harbuck) and James Earl Whitter. She passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Davidson was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime resident of Texas City. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1956. She loved to read and being outdoors. Mrs. Davidson had a great personality and sense of humor that enlightened everyone's life.

Survivors include her sons, Robert B. Dinhobl of Sugarland and John Davidson of Panama City, Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Lt Col Mark Schwalm of San Antonio, Cynthia Boyle of Hallettsville and Pam and Tim Morton of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and Carol Holmes of Lumberton; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Davidson on March 20, 2009; and her brother, Bill Whitter.

Services for Mrs. Davidson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday. March 12, 2010 in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Cryer officiating. Private entombment wil be in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
