El Ray Lee

Services for El Ray Lee, 73, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Roy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Lee was born April 10, 1941 in Huntington, TX and passed away November 27, 2014 in Lufkin. He was the son of Martha Taylor Lee and the late L. J. Lee.

He was a Lufkin Panther Football Player from 1956 to 1959. He was the owner and operator of the Texas Stage of Lufkin. He was a musician, played guitar and sang vocals. He served his country with the United States Army from 1964 to 1966 and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a real estate broker. He owned his own real estate company, El Ray Real Estate. He enjoyed traveling to Greece and Italy. Mr. Lee attended Lufkin’s First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Martha Taylor Lee of Lufkin; his wife, Lisa Lee of Lufkin; son, Jeffrey Lee and his wife Becky of CA; daughter, Jennifer Lee of Houston; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister, Peggy Boone.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
