Elizabeth "Liz" Roach

Graveside services for Elizabeth “Liz” Roach, 84, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 in the Tigertown Cemetery in Paris, Texas, with Rev. Mike Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Gipson Funeral Home.

Liz was born November 5, 1936 in Durant, Oklahoma to the late Lois (Stowe) and Virgil Manners. She passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 in a local nursing facility.

Liz loved the outdoors and she loved the children at the church. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Sherri Hambrick and husband James M. from Pollok, Texas, Barbara Weathers and husband Bud from Lufkin, Texas; brothers, Virgil Manners from Kersey, Oklahoma, Robert Manners and wife Carolyn from Durant, Oklahoma, Tom Manners and wife Patsy from Durant, Oklahoma, Neal Manners and wife Laura from Durant, Oklahoma; sister, Dorothy Brown from Durant, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Pam Manners of Calera, Oklahoma; grandchildren Crystal Larson and husband Stein, Tiffany Batten and husband Brian, James W. Hambrick; great grandchildren, Josey, Henry, and Leif Larson, Reed and Emory Batten, Fiona Hambrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Buddy” Roach; brothers, David Paul Manners and Loyd Manners.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
