Ernesteen Elizabeth (Little) Myers

Services for Ernesteen Elizabeth Myers, 93, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5205 S. First Street, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Jimmy Hedges officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Myers was born January 8, 1925 in Voth, Texas, the daughter of the late Mary (Whitlock) and James Little. She passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Ernesteen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Lufkin and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1942. She was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 63 years. She taught and served in children’s ministry for over 20 years at Calvary. She delighted in traveling abroad as well as in the states. She was crafty and creative and enjoyed sewing and bead crafting. She was lovingly referred to as “Ms. Bingo” at Pinecrest where she loved playing Bingo and 42. The grandchildren adored her and called her their “Ninnie”.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roy Jr. and Lynn Myers; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Mike Stephens; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Karla Myers; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Whitten; brother, James “Bob” Little, all of Lufkin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Myers, Sr.; and two brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice In The Pines, 1504 W. Frank St., Lufkin, TX 75904; or to Old Union Cemetery, 461 S. FM 1194, Lufkin, TX 75904.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
