Gary Allen Murphy

Gary was born in Lufkin, Texas in 1957, the youngest of four siblings. Though he served a shorter time in the Army than he would’ve liked, he received a badge for being a sharpshooter. He would tell you his greatest achievements though were being a father and a Paw Paw. The unconditional love he had for his children and grand babies were unmatched

Gary was a devoted chemical plant operator for over 40 years. He never turned down a game of golf, if he could help it. If there was laughter and joy in the room, you could look around and Gary was there. His laugh was contagious and his heart was made of gold. He will never be forgotten.

Preceded in death by his mother Joyce Marie Murphy, his father A.T. Murphy, his sister Barbara and his brother Alfred.

Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Morgart and son in law Joey, their children Charlotte, Emily and Paisley; daughter Jessica Seeley and son in law Ryan their children Megan and Jacob.

His siblings Robert Murphy and sister in law Eileen, and sister Wanda Murphy. His nieces Lorra Lee and husband Frank, Tiffany and husband Brandon and their children Kylan and Cody. Gary also had numerous cousins and extended family.

Jennifer and Joey would like to extend their gratitude from the bottom of their hearts to Denise and the Domain family; as well as Edwina, Ken and the Petters family for all the love and support you have shown Gary. We dearly love you all more than you know. You will be forever family in our hearts.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gipson Funeral Home, 1515 South Chestnut, Lufkin, TX 75901, followed by a Celebration of Gary's Life at 2:00 PM. Gary will be laid to rest in Fielder Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Joey Morgart, Ken Petters, Brandon Bates, Jesse Chapman, Justin Murphy and Ryan Seeley.
